Hupa is an Athabaskan language and it is the language of the Hoopa Valley people. As of year 2000, this language has only 64 speakers. As of 2012, there are fewer than 10 Hupa speakers who could speak the language fluently. Also, many tribal members share a small vocabulary of words and phrases of Hupa language.
Hmong is a language spoken in China, Vietnam, Laos, Thailand, USA, and French Guiana and belong to Hmong-Mien language group which is spoken by about 2.6 million people. There are two major varieties of Hmong first, White Hmong (Hmoob Dawb) and second Green/Blue Hmong (Moob Leeg/Hmoob Ntsuab), which are named after the traditional colors worn by women of the unlike groups. Today, Hmong write their language with the Romanized Popular Alphabet (RPA), a version of the Latin alphabet.
HiriMotu, also known as Pidgin Motu is an official language of Papua New Guinea. There are around 120,000 speakers of this language, as of 1992. It is a simplified version of Motu language. However, due to phonological and grammatical Hiri Motu speakers cannot understand Motu and vice versa. Hiri Motu is grammatically related to the Tok Pisin language.
Himachali is spoken in Himachal Pradesh, a state in North West India. It is considered to be one of the Pahari languages of India. It is spoken in some regions of Himalayas as well. The origin of this language comes from Sanskrit language.
Hiligaynon, also known as Ilonggo, is an Austronesian language. It is mainly spoken in some regions of Philippines. There are around 7,000,000 native speakers of Hiligaynon language in and outside Philippines and also, there are around 4,000,000 speakers who can speak the language proficiently. Hiligaynon was written based on the Spanish orthography.
Herero, also known as Otjiherero, is a Bantu language. Its speakers are called Ovaherero and there are around 240,000 speakers of this language. This language is spoken in parts of Namibia and Bostwana mainly. It is closely related to Himba and Tjimba languages. Otjiherero is also one of the six minority languages that are used by the Namibian State Radio (NBC).
The Hawaiian Language is a Polynesian language. The name of this language is based on the Island Hawaii where it developed. The first Hawaiian language institute was constituted in 1839 and 1840 by King Kamehameha III. It is written in the Latin script and first appeared in writing in the early 19th century. Hawaiian language went into decline after Hawaii was annexed by the USA in 1899. However, after Hawaiian was made the official language of Hawaii in 1978, there has been a revival of interest in the language.
Hausa language belongs to the Afro-Asiatic family of languages. It is spoken by around 52 million people in Africa. It has been written with ajami script which is a version of Arabic. Hausa has no standard spelling system due to which there is some variation in the spelling of different writers. It is widely spoken in Nigeria and even outside Nigeria, especially in Niger Republic, Sudan, Cameroon and Ghana.
Haitian Creole is also known as simply Creole or Kreyòl. Creole is spoken by almost the entire population of Haiti which is around twelve million and also by two or three million people residing outside Haiti. It is one of Haiti’s two official languages. It is largely based on French language, with influences from different West African languages.
Gujarati is an Indo-Aryan language, and part of the greater Indo-European language family. It is derived from a language called Old Gujarati which is the ancestor language of the modern Gujarati and Rajasthani languages. It is native to the Indian state of Gujarat, where it is the chief language, and to the adjacent union territories of Daman and Diu and Dadra and Nagar Haveli.
